Introduction

EPSCA runs an England Under 11 team and an England Girls’ Under 11 team. To be eligible for selection in 2018 players should have been 9 or 10 on 31 August 2017 (i.e. born between 1 September 2006 and 31 August 2008).

EPSCA England Girls’ Under 11 team
Players are selected by the team manager, based on performances at major tournaments throughout the year.

EPSCA England Under 11 team
Entry to the team trial, held in Liverpool college on 28 and 29 April 2018, is by invitation only. There are two routes to receiving an invitation:

Invitation by nomination
Each affiliated association may nominate their board one player providing they are of the correct age. If the board one player is one of our preselected players (or too young) then board two may be nominated.
Please note, if an association’s board one qualifies through the tournament system, that association DOES NOT get another nomination.

Invitation through good performance at tournaments
Players of the correct age may qualify through good performances at two or more of the pre-selection tournaments listed below. Good performance means finishing the tournament with a score of at least half-a-point better than fifty percent (a final score of at least 3 / 5 or 3½ / 6 for example).

Even if a player is going to be nominated we would strongly recommend that they play in at least two of the selection tournaments.

If you have any comments or questions about the EPSCA England teams
Please contact any of the selectors
David Levens, Peter Purland or Balvinder Ahlualia.
